Isle of Man staff raise money in support of Lebanese colleagues
International Financial Group Limited (IFGL) has sent more than $21,000 to help the aid efforts in Beirut following the explosion in the city earlier this month.
IFGL – which owns RL360, RL360 Services, Ardan International and Friends Provident International – has an office in the Lebanese capital, which was damaged during the blast.
Luckily, the office is repairable and it is hoped it will be operational once again in a few weeks’ time. More importantly, both of the company’s Beirut-based staff were unharmed.
IFGL pledged $20,000 to the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC), which provides ambulances and paramedics in Lebanon and has diverted all of its vehicles to the Beirut relief effort. In addition, staff contributed to bucket collections held across IFGL’s RL360, Ardan and FPI offices in the Isle of Man and raised a fantastic $1,300.
‘IFGL has a long and affectionate association with the country of Lebanon, where we have had an office since 2002,’ said IFGL Operations Director Denzil Williams.
‘Our staff were keen to do something to help. They gave money in 8 major currencies in support of their Lebanese colleagues and the wider Beirut community.’
Donations to the continuing LRC Beirut relief effort can be made via Lebanese Red Cross.
